Michelle Looney, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Michelle Looney is a Berkshire County native. As a child, she brought her dog to Dr. Perry, back when PVH was in the little house at the bottom of the hill. That dog and the many animals she grew up with started her path to becoming a vet. Twenty years later she joined the PVH family.
Dr. Looney earned her bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. From there she settled north of Boston and practiced at what is now Ethos. Since joining PVH in 2005 she has worked as an overnight doctor, a private practice associate, and a lead team member.
Dr. Looney’s interests include internal medicine, general surgery, exotic animal medicine, and ultrasound. She loves a teaching environment and is thrilled to be a part of a practice that has “teaching, learning, and growing” as one of the core values. She focuses on the continued betterment of Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital and its mission to provide excellent care for our community.
On her days off she loves being in the woods and hiking with her dogs. She and her husband live in Dalton and have three beautiful children, two dogs and a cat. They enjoy taking trips to Cape Cod and spending time with friends whenever they can find the time.
